Add a clear photo of your pet and write the premise in one line: your dog runs a secret office, your cat is a landlord. Turning your dog into a cartoon is fun for about a minute. What people actually love is the story: the beagle who thinks the mailman is a spy, the cat who treats the family like staff. That needs your pet to look like your pet every time, the same white sock on one paw, the same torn ear, the same judgemental eyebrows. The photo does most of the work, so pick it well.
A clear face
Eyes and nose visible, good light, no heavy filter. Front or three-quarter angles work best.
Their real markings
Make sure the patches, spots or colour changes that make them them are visible. Those are what fans of your pet will check.
One pet per Character
If you have two pets, make two Characters. A duo is one of the best setups in comedy anyway.
Write your pet like a sitcom lead
Pets are perfect comedy leads because they have a clear want and zero shame. Give yours a job, a rival and a secret. The dog runs a startup out of the doghouse; the cat next door is his competitor; the goldfish knows everything and says nothing. Keep the humour in the situation, and cast yourself as the oblivious human by adding your own photo. Other family members can join with everyone’s permission.
From one Episode to a season
The backyard, the living room and the vet’s waiting room become your World, built once and kept. Each new Episode is a new scheme with the same Cast. Ask the Director for ideas, let the Story break the Episode into Scenes, draw Images, then film the Clips worth keeping.
