How to make a fantasy hero

Describe your hero in one line — armour, weapon, one flaw, where they are going — or start from your own photo. Character App builds that Character once and keeps the same face, cloak and scar in every Scene, Episode and Look, from painterly fantasy to 3D animated, then films them as moving Clips rather than a single portrait. Add the party, the mentor and the villain to the Cast, give them a World, and direct the quest Scene by Scene. Start in the free Studio.

Looks

Same Character, any Look

Brynn in 2 Looks: painterly fantasy, 3D animated. Put Brynn into another World with a different Look and the face, the hair and the wardrobe carry over; only the pen changes.

Character sheet

The character sheet

Before Brynn is in a single Scene, there is a sheet: front, three-quarter and back views, plus the expressions the story will need. It is how we design a Character and how Character App keeps Brynn consistent from Clip to Clip, in every Look.

It is not a download. You never manage a reference sheet yourself, and the app does not export a turnaround file; the Cast keeps the Character on-model in the Scenes you direct.

In the Studio

Brynn lives in your Characters

Every Character you make keeps its Looks in one place, one for each World’s Look. Use Brynn in a new World and the Cast brings the same face into that World’s Look, in every Scene and Clip.

What a fantasy hero needs

Fantasy heroes are travellers. They change towns, weather and armour constantly, so the design has to survive everything the road throws at it.

  • A silhouette with gear

A hooded leaf-green cloak, a short sword, a thick auburn braid over one shoulder. The outline should say what they do before they do it.

  • A mark with a story

A pale scar across the chin, a carved wooden pendant, a missing finger. One detail the audience can ask about in Episode 1 and learn about in Episode 6.

  • A flaw that costs them

Reckless, proud, afraid of the dark. The quest should test it; the finale should settle it.

The same hero, from tavern to final battle

A quest only feels long if the hero stays recognisable through it. Character App builds each Character once — from a description or your own photo — and keeps them on-model through firelit interiors, snowy passes and battle wides, across every Scene, Episode and Look. Paint the pilot in an oil-painting style, then put the same Character into another World with a 3D animated Look; the braid and the scar come along. Every Scene is filmed as a Clip, so the dagger actually hits the map.

Build the party

Nobody finishes a quest alone.

  • The mentor

Old, tired, knows more than they say. Often gone by the midpoint.

  • The rogue

Funny, unreliable, secretly loyal. Every party needs someone to steal the key.

  • The villain

Built with the same care as the hero. See the villain page for a whole season of menace.

Be the hero — with permission

Add your own photo in the app and your hero resembles you. Casting your friends as the party? Only with their permission — the content policy requires the person in the photo or their written consent. Characters from existing fantasy books and games belong to their creators; invent your own realm. Battles stay stylized; graphic gore is against the content policy.

From one line to a Character on film

  1. 1

    Describe your hero

One line: gear, flaw and destination. Character App reads it as fantasy and sketches the realm — the tavern, the cliffs, the mountain pass.

  2. 2

    Assemble the party

Add the mentor, the rogue and the villain from descriptions or your own photo. Every face stays locked from the first Scene.

  3. 3

    Film the quest

Direct each Scene, make the Clips and keep the best takes. The next Episode starts one mile further down the road.

Questions, answered

Still curious? Using your own photo and the guides go deeper.

Can I build a whole party, not just one hero?

Yes. Add every member to the Cast; they live in the same World and stay consistent next to each other in group shots.

Does the hero keep the same armour and face across every Scene?

Yes. Each Character is built once and kept on-model across Scenes, Episodes and Looks, including gear and scars.

Can I base the hero on my own photo?

Yes — add your own photo in the app. Anyone else's photo needs their permission or written consent.

Is this for a game, a story, or both?

It's built for filmed stories — Scenes, Clips and Episodes. You can use it to picture a game character, but it doesn't export game assets.

What fantasy styles can I use?

Painterly oil fantasy, anime, stylized 3D animated, graphic-novel ink and more — and the same hero can move between them.

What does it cost to build a fantasy hero?

Currently the free Studio gives you one World build, one Character a day and 4 Lite Images a day. A plan unlocks Clips and Film — Starter is $19.99 a month for 800 Credits — and a 5-second Clip made from an Image on H3 Max Turbo is 15 Credits. The price is on the button before you press.

Your fantasy hero starts with one line.
