How to make a movie about your family
Start with one family story in a sentence — how your grandparents met, the road trip that went sideways, the day the dog came home. Character App builds the World and a Cast of your family who keep their faces from Scene to Scene. Add photos of the grown-ups and pets with everyone's permission, or simply describe them. Start with the stories your family already tells
Every family has three or four stories that come out at every holiday. Those are your first Episodes.
The grandparents' story
How they met, the wedding, the first apartment. Film it in a period look — the dance hall, the old kitchen — with the same two Characters across the years.
The family road trip
The wrong turn, the motel pool, the song nobody could turn off. One Scene per stop, and the car stays the same car.
The pet as the star
The dog who thinks he's in charge; the cat with a plan. Pets make wonderfully forgiving leads — add a photo and they're cast.
The holiday disaster
The burnt turkey, the power cut, the cousin who brought a surprise date. A comedy Episode everyone will want a copy of.
Everyone's permission, everyone's face
A family movie works because people recognize themselves, so ask first. Add a photo of each grown-up only with their permission — the content policy requires the person in the photo or their written consent. Kids join as original characters: describe the little brother who narrates everything and the Studio draws a character who fits, no child's photo needed. Anyone who would rather sit this one out can be played by an original Character, or simply stay off camera.
Animated or cinematic
Pick the look that suits the story. A 2D cartoon or 3D-animated look turns the road trip into a comedy and your grandparents into storybook heroes. A cinematic look makes the wedding feel like it happened in a film. Try a few looks as Images in the Playground, pass the phone around the table, then film the winner.
A family World that keeps growing
This is not a one-off slideshow. The house, the car, the lake cabin and every Character stay in your World, so next summer's reunion becomes Episode 2 instead of a new project. When an Episode is ready, Export the Clips and send them to the family yourself — nothing posts anywhere on its own.

Can I make a movie about my grandparents' story?
Yes. Tell the story in a sentence or two and the Story breaks it into Scenes. Add their photos with their permission, or describe them, and film it in a period look.
Can my kids or my pet be in the family movie?
Pets, yes — add a photo and they're cast. Kids join as original characters you describe; please don't upload photos of children. The sister who narrates everything can still be unmistakably her, in spirit.
Do I need old photos, or can I start from a memory?
A memory is enough. Describe the people and the place and the Studio draws them. Photos, where you have permission, make the Characters resemble the real family.
Does everyone keep looking like themselves across Scenes?
Yes. Each Character is built once and stays on-model across Scenes and Episodes, from the kitchen table to the back seat.
Is a family movie private?
Your World is yours, and nothing posts anywhere by itself. Export the finished Clips and send them to whoever you choose.
Can I add more Episodes later?
Yes. The Cast and places stay in your World, so next year's reunion is simply the next Episode.
What does a family movie cost to make?
