How to prompt Seedance 2 for consistent characters
With a saved Character, your prompt no longer has to describe the face. Write what happens instead: who acts, the one thing they do, where they are and what the camera does. Keep it to one moment per Clip. The same formula works on the default model and on Seedance 2.
Enhance turns a short line into a fuller prompt. Surprise me suggests one when the box is empty.

Plan the Scenes first
Turn one sentence into Scenes you can prompt one by one.
The four-part prompt
Subject, action, place, camera. In that order, in plain words.
Subject and action
Start with the Character and one visible action: “Mara slides the ring across the table.”
Place and light
Add where and when: “a diner booth at night, red neon through a rainy window.”
Camera
End with one camera idea: “slow push in on Theo as he looks at the ring.”
One prompt, three parts.
Mara slides the ring across the diner table and stands up. Night, rain on the window, red neon. Slow push in on Theo as he looks at the ring.
Nothing in it describes Mara’s face. Her saved reference does that, so the words go to the moment.
Give each one a job.
Name both, give each a separate action and say who the camera favors. “Theo talks while Mara keeps eating” films better than “they argue”.
Fewer adjectives, more verbs.
Long lists of looks and moods fight the reference and blur the action. If a take drifts, cut words before you add them.

- Do I need to describe my character in every prompt?
- No. The saved Character reference goes with the Clip. A name is enough; describe only what you want to change.
- Is the prompt different for Seedance 2 and the default model?
- The same four parts work for both. Models differ in how literally they follow camera directions, so try one take before you film a whole Story.
- Can the app write the prompt for me?

- How do I change the outfit or the place?
